ingredients
1 oz Elijah Craig Straight Rye
1 oz Benne Seed Fat-Washed Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
.25 oz Carolina Gold Rice Demerara Syrup
2 dashes Chocolate Bitters
2 dashes Orange Bitters
method
In a mixing glass, add the bitters, then the Carolina Gold Rice Demerara syrup, followed by the Elijah Craig Straight Rye and Benne Seed Fat-Washed Small Batch Bourbon. Add ice and stir until well chilled. Strain the cocktail over a 2x2 clear ice cube in a chilled Old Fashioned glass. Express the orange peel coin over the drink to release its oils, then place it gently on top of the benne seed wafer resting on the ice, and lightly grate allspice over the garnishes.
